Dandelion is a moving interactive App about bullying and the power of imagination. This magical interactive story came about when the authors son experienced bullying.

The story, in the spirit of Where the Wild Things Are, encourages parents and children to discuss bullying and discover whether imagination can diminish fear and build confidence. A storytelling experience unlike any other, allowing users to physically blow dandelions from the screen!

SELECTED BY APPLE FOR BEST OF 2012!
** #1 App in Australian App Store for interactive Books!! **
10/10 review from AppStorm!

Note: Dandelion is an original fable which transports the reader to a world where they are encouraged to use their imagination. (It is not presented as a solution to bullying as bullying takes many forms and there is no one solution). Benjamins story is his own journey and is a work of fiction that we hope creates conversation.

Pros and cons of Dandelion app for iPhone and iPad

Dandelion app good for

Wow an amazing and a creative way to say to be courageous and go aigainst your fear when you are bullied
BUT there seems to be glitch. The app closes on him while he is watching. He also requests that a sequel be made.
I read this to my first grade class and they loved it! $1.99 is a great deal for this book!
As an adult who has been through bullying, I really enjoyed this short but magical story. Its very inspiring and sometimes, believe me or not, magic happens.

Some bad moments

Tried to download and it wont. Says I have it but its not on my screen. To bad it looked good.
I love the story! "bullying is for people with no imagination!" brought to life on BOTH my iPhone and iPad, after a day of the real world I can sit down and blow some Dandelions! Wonderful for kids of all ages! Read by yourself or enact storytelling mode. Worth every penny! Also, the chaps who created this ap/story truly have the intentions of modern day kids at heart, with inspiration close to home. Thanks for the ap.. The well told story .. Cant wait for the next project! 5stars!!!
What a charming story that has really stayed with me! I told all my fellow teachers about it at school and also the coordinator of our anti-bullying program. She loved it as well. I liked it so much I want the back iPad decal just as a reminder of the story!
Not only is the message difficult for children to understand, but it is not at all practical. If my child is bullied, he should just close his eyes and think of making a wish on a Dandelion? There are more effective ways of dealing with bullies than imagining they arent really there. I am sorry I wasted so much money on this book.
Dandelion is nothing if not an artistic, uniquely stylized story, however, after reading it to my second graders they (and I) were left wondering "Whats the message here?". Clearly its not a story about practically addressing bullying because the main character uses his imagination to deal with the bullies in the end. I tried to explain his imagination was a way to ignore them, but I could tell they werent quite satisfied with that explanation. There seem to be a trend right now of telling stories masquerading as childrens books but cater to the educated parents a bit more. This story is one of them. Unfortunately, the message is unclear whether youre an adult or a child. In the end, they just liked that I could blow that Dandelion.
I really liked the story but what is the message here? Bullies dont disappear by a wish!
